95 Windstar Electrical problems

I have a 95 Ford Windstar. The windshield wiper run without turning them on. the driverside side window rolls down after exiting the car, the sliding door has a motor trying to run, and the relays under the dash clatter; could you please give me some advice?

Start checking wires with multimeter

It sounds like a wiring fault. 2 wires shorting together and/or a wire shorting to ground.

You will need a digital meter and you will have to make at least 1 long clip lead. Maybe two.

Assume the meter is on the floor of the driver side. The lead must be able to reach both bumpers, whichever is the longest. Wire, connectors, crimp tools and/or solder iron avail at Radio Shack. For this type of soldering use a fat tip.

In many cases you will only need 1 long lead because you can put the meter close to one end of the wire.

Make sure you disconnect negative cable on battery first.

You will need a wiring diagram. See if you can find a Ford shop manual for 1995 Windstar. Consider a subscription to alldatadiy.com. You may have to remove body control module to access a wire of interest so you will need pin out info on connectors.

Sometimes the fuse box can provide convenient access to probe a wire. You might have to remove the fuse so you can probe it.

Disconnecting wires presents a risk you may damage something while taking it apart or putting it back together.

If you suspect the body control module you may not be able to swap it out yourself if it must be programmed to work with your car.

It's possible, but not easy.
