Default Blower Motor

I have a 2002 Windstar Lx and it seems that the heater?ac is on the fritz. I can hear a "clicking" noise when I first start the car. I moved the cold and hot switch up and down and that seemed to work for a short time, but now all it does is blow cold air now. The different speeds for the motor works, but like I said all it does is blow cold air. Can somebody please help me out with this problwm.

Hello and good day to you:

May I ask a few Questions first?

1. You said when you start the Van up...you hear a Clicking Noise...Can you tell me if this is coming from the under the Dash near the Heater Blower??? Or is this Clicking Noise coming from out in the Engine Compartment??
2. Do you have a CEL Light on?? (Check Engine Light)
3. Have you ever had the Radiator and Heater Core Flushed and Drained??
4. How Cold is Cold....like A/C cold??? or just a Luke warm Cold???

You may have several problems...and to troubleshoot them we need to know some more information. You could have anything from a Bad Thermostat to a Clogged Heater Core to a bad Actuator.

One more thing I would like you to try.....Start the Van up and let it warm up...Place the Temp control all the way over to HOT....Place it in Defrost Mode...let it run for about 10min's....Check to see how warm it gets....then turn the Temp control all the way over to COLD...and turn on the A/C Mode...see how cold it will get...run for about 2 - 3 min's...then back to first part...

Good luck, and please keep us advised.
