Default removal of VHS system

Hi. I have a 2001 Windstar with the factory vhs rear entertainment system that does not work. I would like to remove it and put a dvd player in the center console. How do I remove the vhs unit and can I then hookup a dvd player?

Thanks-Eric

Sorry, I don't know thecorrect answer, as I'm not familiar with your set-up, but if your stock head unithas the proper jacks and/or connectors, I would assume that you could go to a localshopthat installs automotive DVD systemstopurchasean adapter that plugs into your stockwiring harness, as well as amounting plate. If that's not possible, then the shop or someone else on this forum will hopefully help you with this issue. I wish I could offer more assistance. [&o]

I would think that this should be a simple exchange.
