Hi folks,
Iam pretty mechanically incline, but can anyone suggest a method of replacing the steering rack on a 98 windstar 3.8 gl. Is this a diy job, or a dealer item..from what I can see underneath it looks like that a diy can accomplish this without any problem..

You can DIY but you do need to lower the rear of the subframe to get it out. With the 3.8 it is easier to get the p/s hoses loose that way too. Just watch the trans shifter cable to make sure you don't break it at the mount on the trans when lowering the subframe.
