First thing check the fluid level follow instructions on your owner manual. Briefly there is cold and hot line, make sure your level is within spec. If you need to add more fluid, you have to engage in each gear and step on your brake pedal for a few minutes, whole process can take 15 to 20 minutes. If this fixes the issue you are in luck. Also check for any leak if you do have to add more fluid. Next thing to look at is the speed sensor.

Default After fluid checks out…

Torque converter’s your next concern. If all’s well there, your pump-shaft could be broken. So from the T/C end…the pump shaft splines into it—T/C input from the engine also continuously runs the pump. If those splines become stripped out, the pump-shaft will either lag or stop being driven “AT ALL”. Similarly if the shaft breaks in two, then it won’t drive your pump either obviously. After that is the input shaft chain. Just like a bicycle chain snaps and can’t drive the rear wheel, the intermedIate shaft will also lose power without input from a broken chain.
