89 F250 7.3 Diesel WONT START HOT

I have a 1989 F250, with the Navistar Built 7.3 Non-Turbo Diesel Engine, that starts fine cold but will not crank at all when hot. Also when i flip the switch to my rear fuel tank the truck acts like its running out fuel or sucking air. Will not run off of back tank unless you keep the rpms way up. Any help will be much appreciated.
