Default 2001 E150 serpentine belt choice

I want to replace the original serpentine belt on my van. There are several different brands available, so I would like to know if other owners would recommend one that has worked well for them.

Please let me know.
Thanks

When I purchased serp belts from Ford (Motorcraft) gave them the vin, build date, and weight class , always received the correct belt and never had any problems installing them ,also they performed the longest without any problems.

I run OEM or Gates belts. I currently have a Gates belt on my Freestar. Also, I always keep the old belt in my vehicle as an emergency spare.

It's a funny thing, but we have learned to keep usable spare parts with the vehicles we drive. Just as Use Common Sense does, I also hold on to a spare belt and wiper blade. Once you lose a wiper blade for whatever reason your only option is to remove the arm or don't use the wipers and that can be a problem driving in rain or snow. Learned that the hard way!

Also have a wiper (the shorter 20" for the van), along with a big hand full of ty-wraps, jumper cables, gloves, quart of oil, tire plug kit and a small 12v pocket compressor. They all fit nicely behind the panel where the jack sets .

Just kidding, but after reading that list I was wondering what size trailer do you pull for all that stuff?

A 53' trailer behind the Focus with my walk-behind blower available as the back-up...

Polly, hope Hanky and I have helped you make a decision. I also use Gates for my replacement pulleys and tensioner on my Freestar when I replaced them a few years ago (still spinning away).
