Default 2008 Edge SEL W/front wheel drive. 41,00 MIles

For many months now I have had a condition of abnormal tire wear resulting in excessive road noise. The tires are Michelins and have minor flat spots in the tread. The alignment was done when tires were new and repeated every 10,00 miles since.
The tires have been balanced every 10,00 miles and rotated at regular 5000 mile oil changes. Tire pressure has been kept at 35 PSI. The Edge has been operated at about 70% interstate and 30% city speeds.
I have had the car inspected by the Michelin dealer who is also a real good honest friend of mine. The tire dealer feels it is not a defect in the tire but some condition in the suspension of the vehicle.
Also have had the car into my local Ford dealer for all service updates, oil changes, tire balance and rotation and the dealer cannot pinpoint a cause.
My question is anybody else experiancing this condition on any Edge, regardless of year and or FW or AWD?

Have seen this condition where worn shocks allowed wheels to bounce and still not be felt by the driver. Keep in mind once the flat spots appear all parts of the tire wear the same amount even when moved to another position. Is this appearing on only one tire or both front or rear tires? Tired struts might be involved here.

Initially on the fronts, however these were rotated to the rear. Another Ford Edge blog seems to question the shocks and/or the struts also. This same blog also states that the camber alignment on the rear axle on the fwd is very critical.
