Default heater must be on for heated seats to work??

I just bought an 04 F150 Lariat two days ago, and am afraid it was a huge mistake. Aside from various problems I discovered the same day, my question is: Does the heater need to be on in order for the heated seats to work? This is what the salesman told me. Either way, the lights flash and then go off when I push the buttons.

Thank you!

(The various other problems: Cruise doesn't work, radio stays on when key is out and doors are open, dome lights don't work when they should, no door ajar light, pre-set seats don't work, no warning bell when you've left the lights on....)

Don't get discouraged, many times a series of problems like this can be caused by something simple as a blown fuse. The radio aside for now , I would check all the fuses and see what if anything you come up with. Did you get an owners manual with the vehicle? There are owner's manuals free on the internet for many vehicles. The manual will tell you what each fuse controls and it could save you a lot of time and searching.
I believe the website is; FORD OWNERS MANUALS .htm Let us know if you require addl assistance. Thanks, ,,,,,,hanky
