Was thinking of buying this for under 2k. It has the plow mounts, I have the plow.
The problems is theres a oil leak. Not sure where. It could be the pan. The windshield is broke and the brakes need to be bled.
You think its worth putting money into?

This is only my opinion.
Is the truck std or automatic?
If it was used for plowing make sure the auto trans is good because if the cooler got covered with snow and the trans got really hot you could inherit some problems.
The oil pans on those engines were known for rusting through and leaking. Sometimes can be JB welded and it will hold. Otherwise they were a good engine and with good maintenance gave good service.

Its a auto.....
JB weld would be a easy fix if it works. As far as the leak I'm worried about rear main seal and the pan. I didnt know till my buddy told me that you have to drop the engine.
The current owner wasnt plowing with it. He didnt even know what blade went with the mount but I can identify it as a fisher speedcast. I'm going to use it as a plow truck anyways and if I have to put in a transmission once its not that big of a deal. Most trans dont hold up for more then 5 years of plowing or 150k just driving.
My main concern is the leak and rust. I dont know enough about these diesels to know exactly what to look for but there supposed to be a great work truck.
