Short of getting a "modified" processor that doesn't HAVE to run the catalyst effiecency monitor, I wouldn't have an idea...the monitor is pretty specific and has to measure the number of cross counts after its evactuated the oxygen out of the cats. It's really neat to watch it on a scan tool when it runs, but otherwise, I don't know.

I'm not supposed to endorse the idea, but if it were mine, I'd go for it!

In more than one training session it was impressed on the techs to not disable or alter emission equipment. I was reminded several times of the tech who was supposed to know this and paid a $10,000 fine for doing just that. That's what makes a lot of us GUNSHY !

Hanky, as a ex-Ford commissioned representative, I said that I'm not supposed to endorse the idea. That means officially, I have no idea whats been done.
However, after working on a number of really interesting ****boxes, I've seen more then one (or a thousand) that had something other than the 'original' programing, that would make the car do whatever.
I'm supposed to wear my seatbelts every single time I get in the car to make the lawyers happy. I'm supposed to come to a complete stop everytime some blind bike rider hits me with his bike so the cops can lock me up. I'm supposed to not change the cats on a car that has straight pipes and passed the e-test the day before (per the customer), and I'm supposed to remember the drug-running car that only held 2 gallons of fuel so the rest of the tank held something else (true story), along with the name and address of the customers for the cops.
This doesn't mean I did remember it all. After all the pot I smoked, and alcohol I've drank, a few brain cells along the way just don't work any more.
However, it made me more then compotent enough to rebuild Ford tranmssions and everything else on the car.
Now, excuse me, I've got to finish my beer.
