Rust Proofing
I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on rust proofing my undercarriage/suspension etc. I've seen some pictures of smooth looking black (shiny) undercarriages on show trucks and I was wondering if there was a way to do that myself, so to speak, without having to take it to a performance/off-road store to pay for it. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

I've been using Krown rustproofing on my car, with excellent results. Their stuff takes out the water from all the cracks and holes in all coatings, and makes a thick and hard-to-wash crust all over.
The only problem I had was the day i first put this stuff on the car .. the oil got soaked under one of the battery clamps (which was loose and oxidated) and I couldn't start the car. Took out the clamp, cleaned the battery poles, put it all back, everything fine.
It is hard, however, to keep the engine looking great with this stuff sprayed on the strut towers and front frame ... but in my case, I chose rust-free over great looks under the hood. It worked great for me.

Rustproofing
I had Ziebart rustpoof, undercoat, and Rhinoliner my F350.I'm very satisfied with the customer service.....Krown is apparently only available in the Canadian provinces. POR 15 works, but I've found it will nothold up over the years unless you prep VERY well.On the otherhand,I've found Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer does a great job...two coats works well, but seriously advanced/embedded rust needs to be sraped or chipped out.Sandblasting is ideal, but difficult for the average guy.
