I have a MkV Ford Fiesta Flight TDi 2001/X-reg

I am having trouble getting the double locking and alarm system to work. When I lock the car, the central locking locks all doors (like it should). If I try to double lock it, it doesn't seem to work.

I have tried both turning to the "unlock" position, then to the "lock" position, then put my hand through the window and unlock it. I have also tried Turning it to "lock" then back to normal then to "lock" again... and "lock", "unlock", "lock" and still can open the door by putting my hand through the window.

As regards the alarm, I have tried looking under the bonnet for a close sensor (and think I found it), pressed it 8 times and no chirp (to enter test mode), also tried opening and closing the driver door 8 times, no chirp.

Is there any way of finding a yes/no answer as to whether or not my car features double locking, and anti theft system?
