Default no contact in the horn buttons.

part of the reason my horns don't work is the horn buttons are dirty. i tried the continuity in the wires themselves they worl\k but when i tried across the button by piercing the wire and going to ground it was no good. of course when i shorted the wire in the column it didn't even click. so i have to take out the instrument cluster to get to the horn relay. why do they like to hide the relays? is there any way to clean the inside of the horn switch? i have sprayed contact cleaner in all the orifices i can find.

Default

dooshed the horn buttons real good from the backside three or four times and blew it out with air and let it dry and installed it back into the steering wheel along with the new to me clock spring and harness i got from pull and save. i lined up the arrows on the clock spring after i wound it up now all that stuff works now to fix the interior lights. i am thinking it is the door buttons. the light comes on when i flip the switch at the lights just not with the door open. then it on to a tuneup and oil change. and the emergency brakes don't work yet so i will pop off the rear wheels and check things out. the parts are cheap.
