Default crown vic

Has anyone heard if the Crown Vic is going to be taken out of production? I heard a rumor that the Crown Vic will at least get a total makeover if not be removed from the line up. Just curious because Ford gets a lot of bussiness from the Police market on Crown Vics.

At least they wont be doing that this year..
I was more than surprised when they took my MarauderS out of the market after only 2 years..faster than all the crown police cars..

not likely crown vic sales are to high...and not all police agencies are changing over to the charger....chargers have a front brake problem setting the car on fire.....so some agencies dont want it....they may get a new look but dont see em going anywhere anytime soon

Ford is building the CV through the next four to five years. Fleet sales are high for the CV and the dedicated line is going on 10 hour days the last I heard. Grand Marquise are still sold to the public. And the Marauder, as much as I liked it was a poor performer in the sales department. I think they planned on building 10K per year, and wound up building 9K over two years.

I work on police cars for the city of Rock Hill in upstate SC and we have about 75 2003 Crown Victorias in our police fleet. They are far and away the best car for 10 hour days ever. I spoke to a friend who is a ford engineer who teaches some Victoria police fleet classes. He spoke of a new Victoria that would be built from the current (2003-2008) platform with a new body simular to 1998 when the car was last changed. I feel this is a great idea due to the fact if you ever drove a 2003up Victoria it is a delight to drive. The 3 valve from the mustang would be a welcome surprise to keep up with the charger. Dont worry about the impala it lacks the durrabilty, top end performance, and size to compete wth the Victoria. Im6'5" and can barely drive the impala with the cage in the car not to speak of totaling one at 17mph.The charger is an unknown our fleet has no chargers but you can consiter the intreped was a flop forpolice fleet use and lack of room is another issue also. The Victoria is the backbone of americas men and women who protect our streets and i hope FoMOCo understands this.
