Default 1971 Torino

Hello Everybody,

I am about to be the proud new owner of a 1971 torino and had a few questions about the body style of the car and things I can do to make more of a "GT / Cobra" clone out of this car. This is simply because I prefer the look of the GT trunk lid and the lines of the rear end of the GT to the kind of "unfinished" look of my car. anyways here are pics of what I am looking for and what I have.

and the rear end of this car: http://images.craigslist.org/3E63Ic3...75309e161d.jpg

also anyone know where the hell to find a GT trunk lid and stuff? thanks everyone and I appreciate your feedback

Welcome to the site..

Nice old iron!

Many moons ago I had a Cyclone GT, sister to the Torino GT.. Was a fun car, sounded awesome..

Are you adding a GT hood, or a aftermarket scoop? Could just add a rear deck spoiler, and a scoop for a resto mod look? Maybe some type of rear accent trim, a black out hood or stripe...

Thanks for your compliment, I have sourced a local gt trunk lid with some minor rust(nothing some POR15 and some tlc with sheet metal and a welder wont fix) and "fender extensions" and have some autobody exp, Just need to know if the trunk lid itself will fit so I can pick it up(both for 125 USD) and those seem like a steal considering how rare these seem to be as I was unable to find any repro's....might just buy them anyways to have for the next torino project once this ones done.

I am going for the resto mod just love the style of the GT rear end and theres no GT's for sale below 20k within 600 miles of me.

If I cant fit the GT trunk lid my plans are to get a GT tail light(one piece) and then get a fairlane spoiler and install it after I undercoat and POR15 any visible rust below the car. It already has a GT grill and GT hood at the moment. Will keep posting as my project progresses. thanks all
