I have a problem with my Galaxie, Its a 1964 Galaxie 500 with the 390 and Heavy Duty Crusie O Matic Tranny.
My Problem is I changed the tranny pan gasket, Filter, Fluid because of a Leak. The car has only 40132 Miles but has sat for many years so everything is drying out. Ok since I changed the tranny gasket the car goes into all gears just fine she runs good drives good BUT will not auto shift?????. Is there a vacum line someware that i knock loose or broke. You mean will not downshift or shift up through the gears? Have you been manually shifting up? If so, it may have some debris or gummed-up fluid inside in the servos.
