Default Bronco2 block lift question

I have an '84 bronco II, 5-speed, and am going to install a 3" block lift. I have all blocks and bolts, washers, etc. for it. I was wondering if I needed a shift extender after installing the lift. Every site that I went on that sells the lift says that for a manual trans. you need a shift extender (mazda trans. only), but they sell it for the bronco II. I am confused with this (mazda trans. only) thing. also do I need a steering shaft extender? I have a tilt wheel if it makes a diff.
