Default Cobra Jet or Not

Hi all I am new to the forum. I have a 78 Ford Bronco that has a 460 in it. I recently had some repair work done due to a bad lifter. After the first repair I wen to pick the truck up and drove it to find that it still should the same problem symptoms. The mechanic chose to keep it to check the repair. He called me yesturday to inform me that I didn't have a regular 460 engine. He stated that he purchased regular 460 lifters and intake gasket but found that he needed the cobra jet lifters and intake gasket. All he could tell me was that the parts guy told him it may be a Cobra Jet motor. How would I determine this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
