Default Trouble starting 73 Bronco

I have a 73 Ford Bronco with a 302 V8. I put a new starter, and cables on it. I do know that the battery is bad but when i put the charger on it and try to crank itthe silenoid just clicks. the last try i tried it the starter buzzed a little and then the battery charger tried to keep cranking it. It never would start.Has anyone ever had this happen and can you give me some advice.

A new battery should give you the juice you need. My '70 came with a bad battery and was difficult to crank. I replaced the battery and it cranked over with no issues.
