Default 2 codes and still plug problems

hi
apart from me changing plugs and now car missing and lack of power like i said in 97contours post (would that show up on a code test??? if wires was a problem)still don't know why its doing what it doing.this is what i said in other post

####My car was taking about 3-7 times to start but when it did it run fine ,
someone said it might be the plugs ,so I changed the plugs did not touch nothing else ,
when I started the car I was idling OK but when put it into drive it was ruff idling and 7-10 times cut out before had item to drive the car I set off,when i did set of
It was juddering (missing, lack of power etc) and when i slowed down few time going around the block where i live it cut out on me a few times
i not changed the wires yet but if was working ok before would it be the wires?? (ok it did take 3-7 times to start before ).
car is a 98 contour zetec engine 2.0 ######

i took the car to oreillys and got 2 codes

1/p1744==excessive slip detected
over last few weeks i notice the car jumping forword and going funky with first 1-3 gears

2/p1380==variable cam timing solenoid circuit malfuction

i no idea what that means but just with the 1st one i would not able to afford to change tranny on it if thats the case

so do i scrape it(would i get anything for scrape) or run it until well it don't want to go anywhere??

i am not mechanically minder so bear with me .
