I have a 200 contour and the tranny computer said the vss is bad. I looked above the output shaft opposite the tranny pan and where the pic shows in a diff post and there is a white cap bolted to case there but no vss. I dont even see wires. Can anyone tell me where it might be and how to get to it. Thanks a lot for any help

 

Does this car use a vss in tranny. There is a hole where i thought it would be but ehen i pull the cap i put my finger down into atf. It wont let me look at any of the pics that are on here. keeps saying I dont have access? Please help

 

I looked at the pics of where the sensor is and like i siad there is a white cap there with a o ring and bolted. How do these 00 read speed. Maybe off a wheel sensor or I also found a transmission speed sensor could that be it. This car is jerking like crazy and it is driving me nuts. Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Please help!

 

No one has even a little suggestion. Does this tranny run off of a oss like the 2000 taurus does? That book says it is under that little cap i was talking about earlier. Wanted some opinions before tearing this thing apart.
