Ford Contour While only built on a short time span, the Contour was very popular with people of all driving styles, from the base model making for a great family car, to the SVT making a great track toy.

Sounds like the timing belt wasn't installed/timed correctly, or the variable cam timing (VCT) unit seized.. Since this was a belt replacment, (regular belt interval??) and if the codes weren't present 'prior' to the work, then I'd lean towards the belt was installed incorrectly... The 02 sensor lean codes would be addresed 'after' the P1338 VCT.. The P1000 will be generated anytime the battery is disconnected, or if the trouble codes are cleared wit ha scan tool ect..

CEL still on? If it has no performance/drivabilityissues, clear the trouble codes from memory, then drive the vehicle again until the diagnostic monitors complete and the system will then 'retest'.. If the P1383 comes back, address that concern first.. 'Good' 02 sensors are replaced often when the problem is in another area, chafted wires, connector issues, vacuum leaks ect.......

I Know 2 wires came undone (split) that hang under my car But my husband & i couldn't figure where it came from or where it went to. Still waiting on the IRS to send me my rebait to get all the gaskits and other BS taken care of on my car. I have unpluged the batterie but the idiot light still comes on like 5 min. later & stays on. so I'm just going to half to wait for the fun IRS to send me my rebait to get the darn thing fixed.[&o]
