We bought this car to run circle track races. When we got it someone had cut the exhaust off up to the manifolds. This car sounds like it's not running on 8 cylinders and has an intermittent pop out of the exhaust. Its had the 02 sensors cut off as well. How bad will having no 02 sensors mess up the computer? Also, is there any way to keep it from upshifting while running in low gear?

 

Check it out, on my 97 crown vic, I had 1 bad upstream o2s and the car didn't run so good. I replaced it and could not get the code to go away. I replaced both upstream sensors and runs great, no codes.
