2005 crown vic p71 no crank
Problem with my crown vic no crank was fine yesterday, had intermittent problem with locked in park when started , happened several time but just shut it off and it worked ok , noticed battery was low so charged it up then no crank no start no power windows wipers or radio now ??? fuses look ok,used button access in steering column to put it in neutral and tried starting it but no crank. any ideas ?

Thanks but no go, jumped it from a fully charged battery and no changes still wont crank over, (red battery light goes out when I try to turn it over) defrost works seats work lights work trunk unlock works power locks work I can hear fuel pump priming but not even a starter click or whir , just seems weird that the radio power windows and wipers don't work?

The radio, windows, and wipers etc would normally be canceled during cranking. But your saying that these functions are ‘missing’ with the key in Run and Accessories ignition positions? Or just Run position?
This is a PATS system? If no..
Any change if you attempt to crank in neutral?
Make sure fuses,, F1.24-5 amp (F.124 ‘hot’ in ignition start only-P or N) F1.105-30 amp, and F1.2-25 amp have voltage. The 105 and 2 are ‘hot at all times’. all in the Battery Junction box. Not just a look to see if their open, but check for voltages applied. Finally, F2.12 10 amp in the Central Junction Box should be ‘hot in start’..
Could be an ignition switch, but checking the F2.12 10 amp for voltage during a cranking attempt will help diagnose a switch fail. The other fuses mentioned will help prove out power distribution to the starter relay to activate the stater itself.

I managed to get some time to check out the voltage and power to the fuses , here are the results,F1 24 -5 no power, F 1 24 no power, F1 105 30 amp power at relay 12 .6 volts, F1 2 25 no power, F2 12 -10 no power, so I turned key to on got under jumped the starter and it started then used hole in steering column to put it in drive as it was locked in park and moved it, and parked it tried to start it again by wiggling the key as i turned it and it started ,i did this several times and it seem that the key in tumbler if wiggle it makes an intermittent contact to allow it to start but stays locked in park and no power to windows radio and wipers all other accessories are working ? next I will try taking the ignition apart to see if I can find the issue in the switch or???
