My black & white 1999 (204k) stalled at a light yesterday. Cranked just fine, but wouldn't turn over. Called a mechanic and he said probably the fuel pump and common at these temps (100+). It started right up 30 min. later & I drove the one mile back home. Later drove 6 mi. w/no problems. It has felt like it's been "missing" lately - but that has been sporadic. Mechanic also said it's an $800 fix (does not include lube job). I'm a 3 meals out of a chicken, diggin' for sofa change kinda guy. I can't do the $800, but I don't want to do the replacement myself and discover that I still have the problem. Please help!
