I drive a 1990 Grand Marquee and am having trouble with the airbag warning light coming on. The number of times the light is lit is repeated 6 times. You might be told to take that to a car dealer, but there are no more Fords in Japan. So if you know, please let me know.

The system will proved lamp flashes to indicate/provide a diagnostic code.
When you say it flashes 6 times, is that 6, then a pause, and then 6 again (repeated) ? Or, is there any other combination of flashes with a slight pause between the flashes?

The airbag warning light flashes 6 times, goes off for a short period of time, then flashes again 6 times. In the Mazda community in Japan, when the airbag light on a Mazda car flashes 6 times, it means the clockspring has broken, so I think it's the same thing. But I can't find any repair parts. That's also a problem.
