Default jack location in the trunk?

heya, I'm new here. I've had my crown vic for a couple of years now, great car.

So where in the hell is the correct location for the jack anyway? where I found it was wedged between the quarter panel and that structural support next to the quarter panel. Just by looking at that, common sense told me that wasnt the right location for the jack. I would assume it some how sits within the spare tire, but no the jack is too long to fit in there. I've looked in the owners manual but you know how things are pictured in books like that, they're always super vague so you can't tell what the hell is being described.
