Default MAF cleaning

I'm trying to get a little more mpg out of my car and I read that cleaning the MAF sensor helps with this. Does anyone know if this is true?

The cleaner all the sensors are, the better anything will run. Just be very careful o0f the hot wire in it. It is about the size of a thread and breaks just as easily. When was the last air and fuel filter changes? Last complete tune up? Tire pressures correct? Trunk unloaded?

Way2old, all filters are new and tune up was done by the dealership where I purchased the car a month ago. I would assume they did a tune up because the motor and transmission fluids were sparkling clean and the air filter is brand new so I think they changed the gas filter as well. I bought the car from a Chevy dealer not an independent dealer. So I think they are very well on the up and up.

what i use to clean them with is throttle body cleaner ! it helps to clean the idle air control sensor too ! anyway you can help the engine run better it don,t use as much gas ! did you change the air filter, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor button ? changing those things helps with the gas mileage too and keep the right amount of air in the tires helps too !

Spark plugs have been changed and the car has coil over plugs, no distributor. Where is the idle air control sensor located? I'm not too familiar with a lot of the electrical stuff on cars now days.

IAC is located in the throttle body..you dont need to remove it..spray that and the throttle body..the AIT senser is in the air intake tube..clean it with senser cleaner..be carefull removing it
