Default soo i have a problem... ok a couple

i purchased this automatic 95 crown vic for $200 and drove it home and thats as far as she made it after inspecting the original owners tranny gasket leak that he supposedly fixed this is what i have found.... he didnt tighten anything down properly.....the rear shaft is broke, part of the tranny it self has broken off and there was quite a bit of shreaded metal in there... so my question is how hard is it going to be to put a new tranny in the car ? and what other years/models can i use a tranny out of ?

I guess there's a first time for everything and that's the first time I ever saw anything like that. You may be able to get a good answer from a Ford Parts dept as to what will work, not fit, and what won't.

I think, I said think, 95-96-97 will work. Been over 5 years since I have seen any 95s. Good luck. Call a salvage yard also and they have an interchange manual.

I wish you the best of success.

probably a transmission out of a ford ltd or mercury grand marquis should fit ! about any of the bigger fords or mercury,s should fit as long as they have the same size engine as yours !
