'02 e350 40% door problem

'02 e350 40% door problem

The small "40" side door on my e350 won't latch unless I really slam it the upper latch seems to be the problem. Is there a way to adjust the strike plate or latch to allow proper closure? I snapped the handle off trying to open the door ( now I have a new chore

) I am pulling on the two cables to open. Thanks for any input

Without actually being there to see what is happening , suggest you remove the interior door panel to look inside and look why the upper latch is not releasing or latching.
Most of the time a little lubrication solves the problem. Other than that it requires a look/see to see what is going on.
