1978 Ford Econoline 150 Chateau.
351 V8 paired to a 3+1 manual trans.
showing 44,000 miles.
Front and rear A/C, power steering, 8 track radio.
Seems to be pretty original and stock. Hasn’t been chopped up or anything. All the windows in tact and open fine, all the doors and panels line up. Bit of rust in the rear rockers and bubbling starting on the front fender. It’s a really sweet van! Been daily driving it the past month and absolutely love it. Cruises at 70 mph all day!
Been trying to find some information on it but really can’t find anything on the old inter web. Curious what it would be worth and how rare these are. Personally never seen a 351/4 speed factory van. If anyone has some info please let me know!!
It's definately a candidate for a full restoration. For a 78, it is in very nice shape but hard to tell if there should be a 1 or 2 in front of the mileage indicated. Really any 1978 vehicle is rare these days.Econolines along with F series were very poplular at that time.Hard to say what it would be worth. You need to have it professionally appraised to see what its potential would be before investing a lot of money in it..Old pickups raise more eyebrows than old vans. I kind of doubt just the transmission is going to put the van into a high dollar category. It's pretty cool having that transmission and the original 8-track however.. Sadly very few old trucks are worth a whole lot of money. The exception would be a 1978 Dodge LiL Red Express truck which was highly unusual and very few were made.
