Did you wash the engine when replacing the parts? How did it run after you replaced plugs, cap & rotor? Did you have the problem before replacing those parts? Did you move the dist at any time?

If you feel up to it ,I have seen where the rolled pin for the dist drive gear sheared and messed up the timing.
If you decide to remove the dist to check this ,try a timing light first following the instructions on the underhood decal disconnecting the spout connector.
If you decide to remove the dist,,,,,mark the position of the dist housing in relation to the engine. Then also mark the position of the rotor before lifting out the dist because it will rotate some and it has to be back in the same position when the dist is installed all the way down.

nope havent washed the engine, it was missing when i first got it. it had been sitting a few years so i got a set of injectors and did the plugs cap and rotor. it ran great afterwards. we took a 1500 mile trip ran great all the way. this problem developed about 3 days ago. checked the timing last night was dead balls on (technical term heheh). i just went to town and got a set of motorcraft spark plugs and am going to put them in, in a few min.

Those first 2 plugs on the front passenger side I found easier to replace after removing the battery. Don't know what addl equip you have in the way , maybe you won't need to remove anything since you did this before.
Were you able to verify that the TPS is good ?

yea those 2 plugs suck, i go in from under the fender well

welp plugs didnt change a thing, I dont think it has a tps, Iz think that has an Idle air conyrol valve thing?

It does have a "throttle position sensor". It is located on the opposite side of the throttle cable linkage of the throttle body. If it has worn spots it could cause "dropout" when the throttle is depressed. The BPA (bypass air idle control) controls idle functions and engine speed on start up.
There are some questions regarding the injectors, if there was any contamination in the tank and it accumulated in the injectors because of a faulty fuel filter they may not be getting enough fuel on acceleration. We are starting to pick straws now and some things just are going to need to be rechecked.
There have been instances where the pick up in the dist had a broken wire and would not accelerate smoothly.

i went to pull codes and got code 11 system pass , dunno what that means

hanky Oct 7, 2015 06:32 PM

It means no codes are stored in the computer. Nothing wrong with that !!
