Default 1995 Ford e150 - AC Compressor issues

My E150 has a seized AC compressor and i do not want or need AC for the time being. Im wondering if i can just keep the compressor installed and just not run the AC or will this cause other issues? If so, would it be acceptable to just get a shorter belt that bypasses the compressor or should i install an AC bypass pulley?

Welcome to the site ..

You could do either, disable the comp, or bypass it. But, for defrost function to work correctly you need the AC comp to run to dehumidify.

Thanks for the warm welcome and i appreciate the response. Im gonna go with a bypass pulley and get a in car defroster to use if i need it.

Bonus question, will i still be able to get heat through the vents without a compressor?

Yes, heat will work fine without a functioning compressor.

The defrost vents will still produce heat, you just won’t have a de humidifying function. Not sure an ‘in car’ unit would have the capability to remove moisture from the heated air..
