2006 E150 Steering Question
Hey guys, picked up a 06 e150 to convert into a camper. Now the repairs begin. First I need to is replace tie rods / ball joints.
Replacing everything from the tie rods, sleeves, drag link etc. I don't have the manual. And i'm seeing torque numbers all over the place on google. 55-75lbs seems to be the most thrown around. Can anyone give me accurate numbers? On the sleeves, drag link etc. |

Joe,
Just a reminder, Don't forget to arrange to have a front end alignment done after replacing the tie rod ends. There is also a recommendation of tightening the ball joints with the wheels straight ahead to prevent steering problems. Little tips that make a big difference. Usually , there is some tire wear indication when tie rod ends need replacement and toe needs to be right after new are installed. |

Yeah, I have a friend from home helping via Facebook Messenger and he mentioned that. I wish he were here, everything would've been fixed by now. Has every mechanic tool I could want lol. A few other issues I'll be posting. Appreciate the help. I'll probably do both ball joints and tie rods. Break pads if needed. |
Those are from my alldata software, any car make (not just ford) model from 1966 up to 2008. It's the dvd full version I got from where I used to work at. I converted them to disc images and mounted them as network drives.
alldata already switched to web based only since a decade ago. I prefer web based that's much easier to navigate when I can simply open as many new tabs as possible. The software based I can't even open multiple instance and I hate it so much, but it's better than nothing. Look at the very first diagram I submitted previously, I posted that up on purpose so you can see and let me know what other diagrams you need from me. |
