Default 2010 E-350 only warm air from rear upper vents

Okay so I have seen many threads about the actuator door and how to fix it. In all of those threads people have had heat coming out of the lower vents instead of a/c from the uppers (when a/c is on in the front). My problem is that when the a/c is on in the front I get ambient air through the upper vents instead of a/c. Could the actuator door cause this issue as well? It seems like if air is coming out of the upper vents then the door is working?.... no? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, the door is not working. When you are moving the air pressure builds up outside the vehicle and pushes air through the system. If the actuator door is not closed, it will blow air while moving regardless of the fan. If you put it on max a/c this recirculates the interior air and there should not be any outside air coming in. The actuator door should be fully closed.

Ypu should be be able to hear the actuatir door moving as you change the dial. If you don’t then you have a failed part. If you do hear it move then you may have an obstruction. Debris can get into the hvac system causing blockage to the door moving.
