I have a new to me 1999 e350 with a 7.3. Randomly the shifter will not shift out of park. Brake lights work so i don't think it is not detecting the pedal behind pressed. Seems with enough play of the column and key i get it out of park.

Some strange thibgs inks that have happened are the horn seems to short the ignition somehow and will shut off the motor.
Also, the other day when shifting out of park smoothly, the motor turned off.

Manual lever position sensor? Bad ignition switch?

I really want to get his fixed before it leaves me stranded somewhere. Thanks guys.
