I own a 2006 Ford E-450 (Winnebago Aspect). I just had a problem with the backup lamps not lighting. I determined it was the relay, located in Position 1 of the Engine Compartment Relay Module (on the firewall, above the brake master cylinder). Through process of elimination (and swapping) I got it working and determined that position #1 is on the front of the module and the passenger side. But I do not know which way it is oriented, so I don't really know which ones are 2, 3 & 4. As long as I swapped with 3 or 4 I am fine (those are turn signals for towing, which I do not use). But 2 is A/C Control, so I would need to swap again or get a new relay.
Can anyone explain or show an image as to how this is oriented? When I took out all the relays, the positions are not marked on the block. The cover does not tell this info either. And the Owner's Manual does not tell you. It just has a graphic of the block and says which one does which.
Here are the two items. One is the actual chart describing this relay box. Although it tells you where in the engine compartment it is, it does NOT tell you how it is oriented. So if you look at the photo I took of it, I know the one with the RED circle is bad. If I put it in spot #1, by backup lamps don't work, that is how I was able to tell which position is #1, as marked. But #2 justs needs to be next to number 1. Which means it could be behind #1 or to the right of #1. But I put the bad one in the opposite corner, which should be #4 and that is for Tow Turn Signal (I don't tow anything, as of right now). If anyone can tell me how to find out which way this module is oriented, that would be helpful. Oh, and there is not that LARGE GAP between rows as the diagram shows.
