Default E250 distributor I6 4.9L

I replaced my distributor, marked the spot on the distributor, but forgot to mark the rotor. Does anyone know the procedure so I can get the timing back?

Put the crank/timing mark on TDC (compression stroke), then drop the distributor in with the rotor pointing at #1.. If you get it off/out by 180 degree's (exhaust stroke) thenlift the distributor out far enough to turn the rotor/shaft and drop it back in 180 in the opposite direction...
