E250 Heater/AC control Residual Valve
Wondering if someone here can help. Have a 2005 E250 5.4L that has the following issue. If I have any load in the van or pulling a trailer and running the A/C, upon the engine going '0' on vacuum, the heater box redirects the air down to the floor instead of out of the dash vents. Don't think it is an actual vacuum production issue, but more a problem with a residual valve inline with the heater plenum. I searched the Ford micro-fiche and found the valve, bought it and took the van apart as much as I can, but I can't find where this valve is located.
The valve I purchased has 3 inlet/outlet openings. On the passenger side of the van just up from the vacuum motor, there is a 5 way valve that doesn't look anything like what I was sold. I took out the doghouse and was able to look everywhere and also removed the battery and got under the hood to try to find where it went, but unsuccessful.
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Randy

Heater Core and Evaporator Core Removal
Ok, after more investigation, I find that the valve that needs replacing is apparently inside of the evaporator core housing. Does anyone out there have any experience with the removal of the housing so that I can get to this?
Thanks
