Default Evap Canister is on Top of my Fuel Tank!!!

I have a 2010 Ford E3 50. I made the mistake of over filling the tank in the past. While filling the pump continually shuts off. For about three years I have lived with it. Have to put the nozzle at crazy angles to fill the tank. Never have had a check engine light. I’m gonna be driving back to Michigan almost 4000 round-trip miles and do not want to put up with the filling problem. So I’ve looked into it, and it appears I have a blockage in my eve app, canister, or, the vent valve is clogged. I’ve looked all over online and cannot find anyone who’s posted anything about removing the valve canister from the top of the tank. Unbelievable that they put it there. Anyway, I finally found it there today and want to remove it to clean it or replace it. Does anyone know if I can do that without dropping the tank? I just filled it the other day after removing the line from the canister to the purge valve. That took away the problem to fill but I have to take the cowling off in the passenger compartment to remove the vapor line from the purge valve. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance .

Is it an aft or midship tank?

It’s mid. I jacked my car up so I can get my head up far enough to see on top of the tank. Looks like I can remove the fittings from this position, but not sure how canister would be bolted down.

Depending on tank location, either 4 or 6 bolts. I can send you the shop illustration if that helps...

Yes thank you. Any exploding diagram is helpful. I mustered up the strength to attempt it just now. I was able to remove all the evap lines and the power source. I found two 10 mm nuts holding down the front and got them off. Hoping that was all that is holding the canister down but there are two more on both sides in the back. I could barely get my arm back there so I gave up till I run most of the gas out of the tank. I can see two large bolts on top of the frame that should lower the tank. Looking at the space I can see that even if I get the canister loose it will not fit between the frame and the van floor. So I’ll drop the tank when the gas is gone.

Reg wheel base has 4 canister bolts, extended has 6 (2 large, 2 small)
Since you have all the connectors loose, lowering the tank is pretty straight forward..
