Default how do i get the engine out?

one more post for me I hope nobody minds, i'll just keep firing out posts and hopefully get a response, kind of like fishing

this one is easy, how do you guys remove engines from your van's? I have a 1994 4.9L-6 and the clearances seem really tight to get it out the front, and it's impossible for me to get it out from underneath. The subframe doesn't unbolt, and even if i take the bumper off that crossmember seems to be in the way.

I was thinking that by taking the top of the intake manifold off I could squeeze a hoist in and lift it that way.

Any other suggestions? remove the oil pan? valve cover?
