Default oxygen sensor help 98 econoline 150

Hello, my first post Ihave a ford Econoline 150 van it has 147,000 miles on the 4.2 litre 6cyl, I have a service engine light, the code says Bank2 sensor2, so i bought the sensor but which one is it passenger driver rear or front, I heard there is 4 but not sure anyone know

Welcome to the site...

O2's are positioned.....

Bank 1 is always the bank that cylinder #1 is on.. So bank 2 is opposite of 1.. Bank 1/cylinder 1is on the right/passenger side, so Bank 2 would be the left/driver side.. Sensorsrun,, Position 1 as most forward sensons, Position 2 towards the rear.. So,,, Bank 2, Sensor 2 would be the left/drivers, rear position... Also called catalyst monitors, a good/bad sensor can sometimes be diagnosed prior to purchase/replacement by swapping the right to left and see if the DTC follows the swap (bank/sensor position) since there's other issues that can set a code for a good sensor....
