Possible blown spark plug?
So far, just the one bad cylinder. Look at these beauties. 😁 not sure who changed the spark plugs last time, but two no make it three thumbs down.! Just have the two forward cylinders on the passenger side left. New plugs new coils and I’m going to do an insert on the number eight cylinder. I wish I had the time to do all eight of them. I just cranked the torque up on the other spark plugs and made sure that they were damn well good and in there.🤞🏻 I’m a contractor hitting my busy season so I got to get through the summer! Then I’ll just buy a new van if I have to. With 170 K on this beast and pretty unsure of the Ford motors, as well as the transmissions as I’ve already been through that nightmare, it might be time to switch gears. Thank you all again for your help. I really appreciate the time taken to chime in and all of the helpful threads I have combed through! 👍🏻👍🏻 HUGE HUGE HELP!
Came back for one more follow up! So I drilled it out, tapped it and put a good amount of high heat 450° thread locker on it as well as some JB weld up closer to the hardtop flange. I made sure to torque it in well. I spent a very large amount of time making sure that the cylinder was completely cleaned and all metal shavings were blown out or vacuumed out. I haven’t started it up yet. I’m giving it a little more time to set up and dry to be a success so far! Yee haw for this forum, YouTube and Cal-van! Van savers! And just as a heads up, you do not need to remove the fuel rail to do any of it on the number eight cylinder!! Just work, slow and smart! No need to re-create the wheel on this one! Thanks again everyone!
