Default Torpedo Cat or Normal Cat for 2006 Ford E450 6.8L V10

Hi all! I have a 2006 Ford E450 6.8L v10 box truck (previously a U-Haul). The catalytic converter recently rusted off of it and the honeycomb was all busted up inside, so I took it off and put a straight pipe on as a temporary fix. I called around to see about getting a new cat welded on, and a muffler tech told me that I actually should be putting a torpedo cat (the gigantic cats) on my truck, and the reason the old one’s honeycomb was busted was because it couldn’t handle the heat of my v10 engine. The cat that came off looks like the small, non-torpedo cats available on Rock Auto under the “OE Design” tab (link for you to see what I mean). In fact, I don’t see any torpedo cats for my truck, so I am curious if perhaps the muffler tech was just incorrect and that I should be okay with getting a normal cat.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge or hunches about this topic?

Thanks so much for your help!
