Beefing Up a 2.0L. 4-cylinder 2018 EDGE
I just bought a 2018 Edge with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine. How could the engine be beefed up for higher performance? I already bought a K&N Filter. Best spark plugs? Larger exhaust pipes? More?
OK since no one else has responded I'll give it a shot.
Honestly I doubt your going to get much extra out of that engine, its a little 2.0 turbo engine that will work just fine driving down the road but generally for performance vehicles a engine that size would be in a sedan like a Focus. I imagine you could get a tune that will give you some more power, fords run best on motorcraft spark plugs, I would look into a tune before messing with the exhaust, I dont know but I would think exhaust changes would not do that much since its a turbo the exhaust doesnt act like a nonturbo engine.

Something a lot of folks don't realize,
A lot of research goes into putting an engine out to the public to provide the best "Reasonable Life expectancy and performance" during it's lifetime.
There is usually a safety factor and an engine gets "Derated" to hopefully last longer. When excessive demands are placed on the certified engine , something has to give and when it craps out , we complain. Never hurts to keep something like this in mind.
