Default New brake booster problem

Hi all,
I have a 2013 Edge ecoboost FWD. After getting a hard pedal (and driving it that way for a couple weeks) I replaced the brake booster. Other than needing my little girl to crawl under the dash, it wasnt all that bad.

Having a problem now though- when driving, when i push the pedal i get the typical booster help for about the first half of the pedal travel. Then it hardens up like a bad booster if i need to come to a complete stop. Ive bled the front brakes just in case, but i never removed any lines while i replaced it anyway.

Any thoughts?
Thank you!

Your brake booster is vacuum assist. Suggest you start with checking for possible vacuum leaks.

After that check the check valve that plugs into the booster
Hard pedal usually is the result of no vacuum assist.

Thank you! I will check this weekend. Any good methods without a vacuum tester?
Disregard- I'll pick one up tomorrow, as well as a check valve. Inexpensive stuff.

You should not need a vacuum tester.
