Angry Phone gets super hot on Edge charging pad

Bought a new 2022 Edge Titanium in February and have notice that my phone gets extremely hot when on the charger for over 30 minutes. I'm worried this could be a safety issue. Anyone else have this problem?

Does the phone get that hot using any other charging method?

No, only on the Edge's built in charging pad. I have 4 other charging pads I used between home and office and non of them cause this. Today I tried removing the phone case but it didn't make any difference.

Since the vehicle is so new, this should be covered by warranty. What does your dealership say regarding this problem?

I haven't asked yet. Hit a deer today so now the phone charger has been bumped from the top of my complaint list.

For what it is worth,
Installed the gadget that sends a sound out when driving on several fleet vehicles and the drivers all said they could see the deer running away from the parkway when they were coming. So they DO work !
