2004 XLT with electrical gremlins
New to me, previously little old lady owned. Runs like a champ as long as the IAC isn't sticking. Seems to have some electrical issues though. Can anyone point me in the right direction for what these all have in common, so I can find what's most likely a rodent-chewed harness?
- overhead lights don't work at all - main, map lights or cargo area
- radio won't come on - looks like no power, though I need to get my removal tools out of storage so I can verify that
- power door locks don't work at all with the key off - makes the remote pretty useless when it only works while you're in the driver seat
- no power at OBDII port - no CEL at the moment, but I'm used to calling it the "engine exists" light on my 2002 Focus, so I want my reader to work
You did half the job, now all you need to do is check the rest of the fuses.
If you had a simple test light , you check all those fuses without pulling them out and having to hopefully put them back in the right place.
It is a time and back saver.
