2005 Ford Escape V6 Rough Engine
hey,
I haven't been able to find much on the net about rough acceleration, the SUV is a 2005 Escape V6 Limited and idles smoothly when it warm, but being in Thunder Bay, at night, the temperatures drop to about -35C or more. When i start it the next day it starts fine but a chirp is heard just before the engine starts and I release the key.
I noticed within the past two days after it warms up and its on the road, acceleration produces a low end groan in the engine compartment and is sluggish. Moderate to heavy acceleration makes this noise much louder vibrations get strong. The groan subsides when cruising around 50km/h but above that the groan is noticeable at speed.
Sidenote: It just had an oil change last week at 112,000km , and had a complete tune up and new breaks put on about a month ago. No engine lights are on either.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated, its going to the garage this week to get looked at but I don't want to go in with no clue as to whats wrong...
